Grant Funding and Volunteer Programs
The following links are to sources of funding or volunteer assistance which institutions provide to support archival projects. These links are for your convenience when seeking external funding or volunteer assistance.
PCOM Grants
The ICA Program Commission (PCOM) provides support for archival projects that advance the six objectives outlined in the ICA's Strategic Directions 2008 - 2010. These can be viewed at the following location:

PCOM drives the ICA's technical and professional program, including monitoring branches, sections and committees. The following link provides information about the role of PCOM in the ICA.

To apply for a PCOM grant, organisations must first read the Application Guidelines, and may contact the PCOM Secretary if there are any queries. More information about the grant application process can be found at the following location:

FIDA Grants
The Fund for International Archival Development (FIDA): The ICA's commitment to the developing world. FIDA wishes to build capacity in countries where archiving and record provision is weak, through mentoring and career development. Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development
The Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) program is committed to achieving sustainable development through capacity building, skills exchange and institutional strengthening. Host Organisations (Government Departments, NGOs, educational institutions, private companies) in the Pacific provide AYAD volunteers with an appropriate workspace and assignments. Volunteers can apply expert knowledge to your projects, and train local staff accordingly. It is an Australian Government, AusAID initiative, that provided skilled young Australians the opportunity to volunteer overseas. Volunteer Service Abroad
Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) sends skilled New Zealand volunteers to work internationally, working to create positive change in communities and countries. VSA form partnerships with developing countries overseas, and non-government organisations. More information on VSA Partners can be found at the following location:

Volunteering for International Development from Australia (VIDA)
VIDA Volunteers is an Australian Government initiative that places skilled Australian Volunteers in the Asia Pacific region. Host Organisations in the Pacific provide VIDA volunteers with an appropriate workspace and assignments. These skilled volunteers can apply expert knowledge to your projects, and train local staff accordingly. NZ Aid
NZ Aid helps to support sustainable development and reduce poverty through development partnerships, particularly in the Pacific region. The Short Term Training Awards (STTA) enable individuals from selected developing countries to undertake training of up to one year duration in New Zealand. Australian Volunteers International
